Basketball at the YMCA
Today was my rest day, and I had a choice of doing Stretch X or just resting. Instead, I decided to go to the YMCA to play basketball. I had a great workout. We won three games in a row. But I decided to go ahead and leave after that third game, because I had run out of gas! I was so tired, I knew I wouldn't be able to play a third game, so I went ahead and left. I'm looking forward to starting my second week of P90X in the morning. I've got pushup bars now, so I should be able to get a better workout than the first time. I'm doing great so far and I'm gonna keep pushing play!

Kenpo X with the Kids!
I completed Kenpo X today. First off, this is the most I've sweated during any workout so far. It felt great. I really enjoyed this workout. Today was Sunday so everyone was at home. So, after my daughters stopped laughing at me punching and kicking, they actually joined me in the workout. I then drank my after recovery drink, showered, then sat down and watched television. I had the Drew Peterson Untouchable movie recorded on my DVR. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but still pretty entertaining. I'm planning on playing basketball tomorrow, so I'm debating on whether I should do Stretch X tomorrow, or take my rest day from P90X. I'll decide tomorrow.

Legs and Back
Legs and back, great workout! I got off work this morning at 7:15 AM, yeah, I was up working all night while most of you were sleeping like babies in bed! I slept pretty good today, considering the fact that my family was home most of the day. Anyways, I got up around 2:30 PM and started my workout around 2:45 PM. I worked up a pretty good sweat, although I'm still frustrated that I don't have dumbbells yet. A lot of the leg exercises used dumbbells. Although I substituted with the bands, I just don't feel like I'm getting as effective an exercise as I could have with free weights.

Yoga X - What a Workout!
So, I did Yoga X earlier today, and let me tell you, I have a new respect for Yoga. The first 30 minutes or so of the workout are very intense. Your arms and legs will burn. This is my first experience with Yoga of any kind. I learned just how inflexible(stiff!) I am. I can really see how doing Yoga on a regular basis would be very beneficial healthwise and and improving your flexibility. I read in several forums how some people didn't like Yoga X and they substitute it for something else. But I'm definitely not gonna do that. The Yoga X workout definitely seems too beneficial to leave out.

I Just Bought my Yoga Mat and Push Up Stands
So, I went to Academy Sports this morning and I bought a Yoga Mat and Push Up Stands. The Yoga Mat came in a kit that included the mat, yoga blocks, yoga strap, and 65 cm Burst-Resistant Ball with hand pump. It cost $19.99. They had another mat that was thicker, but it was $17.99 and didn't include any of the extra accessories.
The push up stands that I bought are made by Nike and had some great reviews on Amazon. The Nike Push Up Grips
were on sale for $14.99. I will let you guys know how they work out when I use them, but they seem to have a very sturdy feel to them.
Okay, so I'm gonna head to the YMCA for a little basketball this afternoon. Looking forward to Yoga X in the morning!

Just Completed Shoulders and Arms!
Okay, so now it's day three. I'm proud to say that I got up at 4AM this morning to do my workout. I'm on night shift, but I'm off today, so I decided to start my day off with P90X instead of waiting to do it this afternoon. The shoulders and arms workout is pretty good. Right now, I'm using the elastic bands. I really think I could get a better workout if I were using dumbbells. I'm gonna get the Boxflex Selecttech adjustable dumbbells soon, or something similar. Well, I feel great that I've completed my workout for today. I'm gonna try to make it to the Y this afternoon to play basketball to get a little cardio in.
BTW, I did plyometrics yesterday, and let me tell you, Plyo is intense! It's a leg workout and intense cardio all in one. Right now, I can feel the soreness in my arms and legs, so I know P90X is working!

Ready for Plyometrics!
Okay, so it is now 5:16 AM. I get off work at 7:15 AM. Yes, while most people are either just waking up or still in the bed, I've been up all night on my 12 hour shift job. The plan today is to go to bed as soon as I get home, which should be around 7:30. I live really close to my job, which is a major benefit. I'm going to set my alarm clock for 12:30PM so I can get up and do the Plyometrics DVD. See you then.
